I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) which is the highest level of clinical social work license in Washington, DC.
It is comparable to Virginia's LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) and Maryland's LCSW-C (Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical).
Though not a pastoral counselor by training, I have my office at Brookland Pastoral Center (www.BPCcounseling.com) because I am aware of the importance of spirituality in a person's life as it has been in my own.
For many years, I've been in private practice working with adults in individual therapy.
I completed my MSW at Catholic University in 1987. I have practiced as a foster care social worker, a family therapist in residential drug treatment, and individual therapist at a community mental health agency where I worked in both the outpatient substance abuse program and the child abuse and neglect program. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, families, couples, and groups.
